GRADED HOMEWORK - to be done in your notebook.

So far, you know how to have a basic conversation in French to introduce yourself by saying your name, your age, you state/condition and your birthday, and you know how to ask these questions to someone else - without forgetting the greetings. You use the first personal pronoun Je or J' (I) to refer to yourself.

1. Write a conversation in which you answer these questions as yourself.
2. Write a second conversation in which you answer these questions as your character. 

Now let's talk about your character in the third person to learn how to introduce another person.

Basically, instead of using Je/J', you use Il/Elle (he/she).

- Bonjour! 

- Salut!

- Comment s'appelle ton charactère? 

- Il s'appelle Picasso. 

- Quel âge a-t-il? 

- Il a cent trente-six ans (136). 

- C'est quand son anniversaire? 

- Son anniversaire est le vingt-cinq Octobre.

- Au revoir!

- A bientôt!

Notice the changes: 

• Je m'appelle becomes Il/Elle s'appelle.
• J'ai... becomes Il/Elle a...
• Mon (my) becomes Son (his/her)

3. Now write a conversation in which you ask the questions and present your character in the third person.

4. Present this person by saying: This football player is called... (Ce joueur de football...)

 Zinedine Zidane, birthday June 23, age 45.

5. Present this person by saying: This singer is called... (Cette chanteuse...)

 Rihanna, birthday February 20, age 29.
